The Cavern City Air Terminal, during World War II was used to train Bombardier’s by the United States Army Air Force Training Command. Today, the airfield is a public-use airport located five (5) miles southwest of the central business district of Carlsbad. The airport has 4 runways, 5 taxiways and a large ramp for parking.
