Bomb threat results in the arrest of a Carlsbad woman.     

 

Date & Time: February 15, 2023, at approximately 4:10 p.m.

Location:  301 North Canyon Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico

At approximately 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the United States Postal Services office in reference to a report of a bomb threat. Patrons and staff had evacuated the building as officers arrived. Officers created a perimeter as they learned that the female subject later identified as, Annica Jacobo, was still inside the building. Public address commands were initiated and Jacobo shortly thereafter exited the building without incident and was taken into custody. No injuries were reported from anyone to include Jacobo as all surrounding buildings were placed into a shelter in place during the incident. The Carlsbad Police Department Criminal Investigations Division arrived on the scene and led the investigation. Jacobo was later charged with one (1) count of bomb scares and shooting threats unlawful and an outstanding warrant.
