Carlsbad High School’s Business Professionals of America students had an incredible show at the BPA Nationals. Congratulations to Terry Carrera, Kasey Graziano and everyone who helped with the event.

Special awards included Stephan Brown being recognized by Stukent for having won the national Social Media Marketing Challenge in October. He also won another similar challenge in April. In this challenge, students have a weekly budget, and they are asked to generate revenue using a simulation.

Kenya Neri and Mia Peacock were recognized for having achieved the Ambassador Torch Award, which involves obtaining points in a variety of BPA categories. This took a lot of hard work and dedication. . Carrera was named the national BPA Advisor of the Year, thanks to a nomination by Kevin Zink and several BPA students.

Carlsbad’s BPA chapter received a certificate for meeting all requirements set by the national office for Quality Chapters and another certificate for conducting all activities over Social Media. Historian Klarisa Rocha helped run the chapter’s Instagram account.

Other honors included Yesid Peterson, who placed tenth in Human Resource Management. She had 20 minutes to read the scenario and come up with her solution to the problem.

The Administrative Support Team of Ashlin Bluemer, Eileen Herrera, Klarisa Rocha and Domenique Hopinkah finished 8th in their competition. In this event, the team works as an office staff  to produce a variety of business documents in 90 minutes.   Other Carlsbad High School competitors were:  Abigail Pride, Annalis Lujan, Bella Fuentes, Elena Sanchez, Jake Cooper, Jesse Fields, Kynzie Dominguez, and Miguel Beltran.   Congratulations to all of these hard working students.
