The City of Carlsbad’s June 30, 2021 Financial Statements, Notes to the Financial Statements, and the Independent Auditor’s Report were all submitted timely to the State Auditor, Finance Director Melissa Salcido has reported.
According to Salcido, the City of Carlsbad was issued an Unmodified Report from Hinkle & Landers. An Unmodified Report is an opinion of the Auditor that provides a high level of assurance that the financial statements are presented, in all material respects, in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards.
There were no material weaknesses or other instances of noncompliance identified in financial reporting or internal controls. There were also no significant deficiencies identified. This is the second consecutive year that the City of Carlsbad has not received any audit findings.
“This is great news for the City of Carlsbad and for the taxpayer,” Carlsbad Mayor Dale Janway said. “The men and women who handle our finances have a huge responsibility, and they have been doing an excellent job.
