Congratulations to members of the Carlsbad Police Department, who will be hosting an Honor Guard Academy Class from July 10-14 in Carlsbad.

The purpose of this training is to provide the framework and to share information for participating agencies to establish or expand their own Honor Guard programs. The Carlsbad Police Department’s Honor Guard went to a formal training conducted by the United States Border Patrol and other agencies. The academy is limited to 20 students and will be held at the Carlsbad Police Department. Training is for new and experienced honor guard members, and instructors will include members of the United States Border Patrol, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Congratulations to the Carlsbad Police Department on being selected to host this academy.
