What are your family’s daycare needs? Katie Gomez, who runs Carlsbad’s “The Sunnyside Daycare,” has created a survey to help everyone get a better understanding of daycare needs in Carlsbad and the surrounding area. Gomez is part of a group looking into adding daycare options in Carlsbad. The local potash mines and the Department of Energy are also participating in this discussion, as the daycare issue is closely related to the ability to recruit and retain workforce.   Please complete the survey at to help with this important effort.

We wanted to again offer our condolences to the family and friends of Loretta Forbes, who passed away earlier this month. Loretta was very active in the arts community, and her works are on display at the Artist Gallery Downtown. She was also involved in activities as the senior center and volunteered to help animals. She’s greatly missed.
