Advanced Heart and Vascular Center of New Mexico has posted an announcement that it is now serving the Carlsbad Community. Jennifer A. Tupper, who does an outstanding job, is now accepting appointments for all cardiovascular services. To make an appointment, please contact (575) 941-4400. Offices are located at 2405 West Piece Street, and you can stop by to schedule an appointment or pick up paperwork. For more information, please visit their website at advancedheartnm.com or facebook@advancedheartnm.
This is a temporary location – as announced last month, Advanced Heart and Vascular Center will ultimately be moving to a new surgical center called Surgical Suites of Carlsbad along Skyline Drive. We’re excited about this new development of health care in Carlsbad.
COVID-19 update: On Monday, Carlsbad Medical Center reported ZERO in house COVID-19 patients. This is the first time since July when this has taken place. CMC also reports only two positive COVID-19 tests over the weekend. All other organizations in the area report very low numbers as well.
Many of you are familiar with the “case count” of COVID-19 cases that the state has been putting out for the past two years. The New Mexico Department of Health has now changed its reporting system. Instead of a daily case count, the NMDOH will now be providing COVID-19 data on the following web page – https://cv.nmhealth.org/epidemiology-reports/
Let’s all hope and pray that COVID-19 numbers continue to dwindle. We will keep watch and provide periodic updates, as needed.
In celebration of a return to baseball season, Albertsons held a special event over the weekend where local baseball legends, Brian Hall, Matt Graham and Shane Andrews, were all on hand to sign autographs and visit with guests. Thanks to David Beaty and everyone with Albertsons for putting this together. The grocery store also is putting together a special event celebrating Women’s History Month – we’ll have more on that later this week.
Local businesses also celebrated “National Pi Day” on Monday (3-14) by baking or giving out pies. Special thanks to XTO for dropping off a pair of delicious pies at City Hall.
Carlsbad Municipal Schools is having a send off for its cheer and dance teams on Thursday at 3 p.m. These teams are headed to their state competitions in Albuquerque. Buses will leave the parking lot of the auxiliary gym. Please attend if you are able, and best of luck to all of our local competitors.
