On behalf of everyone at the City of Carlsbad, we wish you a Merry Christmas. We hope you are enjoying a wonderful time with your family and friends, and that you are all taking care to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
So many wonderful Carlsbad organizations have helped with the spirit of giving this season – including the Faith, Hope & Love Foundation’s Christmas Shoppe, Ray Anaya’s Christmas Anonymous, Shop With a Hero and many others. This year’s Christmas Shoppe provided each child with three new toys, one outfit and a stocking stuffed. Parents also received a Christmas gift. Another long-time Carlsbad charitable effort, the Brotherhood of the 74, held a toy run in November.
Others have volunteered their time to make sure that Santa and the Grinch are able to make special appearances across town. Many others have worked with their church groups and other organizations to provide worship services and special celebrations for all of our residents. Even something as simple as putting up a light display is a great way of helping spread holiday cheer. If you are still looking for a map of light decorations put up in Carlsbad, don’t forget to visit the Hometown Holidays & Events Facebook page for a map to help you with your tour. Finally, thank you to all of our hard working first responders, health care employees, retail workers, truck drivers and others who don’t slow down one bit over the holiday.
If you are looking for one more positive act this Christmas, please try to do a little last minute shopping – or even post-holiday shopping- at one of our local businesses.
