PUBLIC NOTICE: The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a federal agency, has identified a congregate housing facility in Carlsbad to potentially serve as a migrant processing facility for families.
The City of Carlsbad has not entered into any agreements or contracts associated with this identified potential facility. Outside counsel has been engaged to determine the City’s options and next steps.
The City of Carlsbad is diligently working on obtaining information on the federal government’s plans. The City strongly encourages the federal government and its contractors to communicate additional information on this process to Carlsbad and Eddy County residents, and to solicit feedback from area residents and stakeholders.
