PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
The Planning and Zoning Commission is a five (5) member board appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Commissioners must be City residents and are appointed to a two-year term. Current Commissioners are:

Wanda Durham, Commissioner
The Planning and Zoning Commission considers applications relating to the subdivision of land, appeals of staff decisions and conditional use permits. The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on applications for annexations, zoning map amendments and zoning text amendments.
Applications for Commission consideration are due by 5 PM on the first Friday of every month and, provided the application is complete, are scheduled for the meeting in the following month. Incomplete applications are not accepted.
The Commission meets on the first Monday of every month, unless the first Monday falls on a holiday in which case they meet on the second Monday. Meetings are held at 5 PM in the Planning Room located on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building, 101 N. Halagueno, Carlsbad, NM 88220. The meetings are always open to the public.
